In Serenity Garden, you'll find the recipe for a delicious Lavender
shortbread and also for Lavender Salt Glow, a wonderfully aromatic spa
treatment you can do at home. Here are some more easy ways you can
enjoy soothing, aromatic Lavender, the 1999 Herb of the Year.
-
Lavender/Oatmeal Bath
-
Grind together one cup dried Lavender buds with two cups regular oatmeal
in a food processor or blender until quite finely ground -- everything
eventually goes down the drain of your tub. Store the ground up mixture
in a dry glass jar. For a relaxing hot bath, add a handful or two under
the faucet as the tub fills, and swish to disperse. Roll a towel for
your neck, climb in, lean back, close your eyes, and float away....This
soothing mixture also makes a refreshing footbath.
-
Lavender Water
-
Steep 9 fresh Lavender flower spikes in a quart jar or bottle of fresh,
cool water overnight. Strain and refrigerate. Pour into a pump spray
bottle to use. Lavender water has a very light and subtle fragrance that
brings out your body's own unique perfume. It makes a cool face and body
spritz for a hot summer day. Use a spray or two to refresh bed linen
and lingerie. You can also drink Lavender water, which is said to
induce a mood of passion....
